T & M Tire Service of Porter Indiana, Inc. is Hiring a Tire Technician Near Chesterton, IN

Job Overview:

Position is responsible for performing skilled and specialized automotive mechanic work in the repair, maintenance, and replacement of tires on trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment. Position mounts/demounts tires; ensures conformance to industry standards; examines and repairs tires; performs preventative maintenance; and responds to emergency road calls. Position may be required to work evenings, nights, and weekends.

Duties:

- Prepares tires for installation; mounts and demounts tires on rims and vehicles; and fills tires to the proper air pressure.
- Responds to emergency road calls; performs road service to repair/replace damaged tires.
- Operates and maintains diagnostic equipment, hand/power tools, tire changing machines, balancing equipment, and other specialized automotive tools and machinery.
- Must be available to be on call evenings, overnights, and weekends.
- Practices safety methods in the operation of equipment and performance of duties.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the noted knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Must constantly lift, carry, and/or move up to 150 pounds and push/pull up to 75 pounds.
- Must possess an excellent knowledge of industry standards related to tire maintenance.
- Must possess the ability to diagnose defects and perform routine/complex repairs on standard and large vehicle tires.
- Must possess skill in the use and care of hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment employed in tire repair and adjustment work.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 51 per week
