Job description
Occupational Therapist (Jamestown, North Dakota)
As a therapist working with children with special needs, you are required to perform the job duties listed below while
adhering to your individual licensure requirements.
Job duties required for a therapist employed by T&K Pediatric Services include:
Providing skilled, quality, effective interventions for a large variety of diagnoses.
Participating in developmental screenings.
Accepting referrals from physicians and evaluating children using standardized testing tools.
Therapists will track the number of treatment visits and monitor the need for re-authorization through the
insurance company.
Each therapy visit and summaries will be documented in the Electronic Health Record.
Set up and clean treatment area before and after each appointment.
Provide written home program instructions to parents upon completion of the initial evaluation and whenever
necessary.
Therapists write a Progress Summary/Plan of Care
Therapists will maintain current CPR certification.
Therapists will maintain current state licensure, including keeping up with required continuing education that is
approved by the clinic manager.
Additional Responsibilities of Occupational Therapists:
Supervise COTA in accordance with ND state licensure regulations.
Sign progress notes written by COTA and provide feedback regarding treatment activities.
Determine appropriate caseload for COTA and delegate based on skill level required.
Assist child care providers in modifying classroom environment as needed for children with special needs.
Have/pursue the knowledge and ability to evaluate and address various oral motor issues/feeding difficulties
across a wide age span effectively.
Communicate directly with parents about treatment goals and strategies that should be implemented at home.
Communicate progress and goals and collaborate regularly with other professionals involved with your clients.
Participate in community events that support our mission.
