Fiber Splicer

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus!

MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL! Home on weekends! Mileage, Lodging, and Per Diem are provided.

The Fiber Splicer position requires at least 3 years of fiber splicing and testing experience. This position must be willing to perform both aerial and underground fiber optic splicing and testing construction and have a good working knowledge of aerial and underground rules and regulations. Must be proficient in fiber color codes, in using specialty fiber tools, and fiber optic test equipment.

Responsibilities:

Terminate, splice, and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures, including both loose tube fiber and ribbon fiber.

Test and troubleshoot for damaged fiber and make repairs as needed.

Read, understand, and update splice documentation and maps as required.

Perform aerial construction activities, including but not limited to, installing aerial fiber, installing fiber storage in a safe manner.

Perform underground construction activities, including but not limited to, pulling new cable/fiber through short conduits, opening underground vaults or pedestals.

Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities of this job classification.

Requirements:

Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid US driver’s license, and pass a drug screen, background check, MVR check and DOT Physical.

Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position, which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights, in confined spaces, in all types of weather conditions, and in both rural and heavy traffic congested areas.
