Position Description

T. Baker Smith is looking for a skilled Recruiter with an understanding of the A/E/C industry to join our great team. If you can recognize and attract the right candidates for the right seats, follow the market trends, and build a partnership with Hiring Managers to increase efficiency of the hiring process, this is the job for you.

Your Opportunity:

  • Full life-cycle recruiting: recruiting, screening, and recommending placement of staff by using creative sourcing methods (internal and external).
  • Collaborates with Hiring Manager to determine staffing needs.
  • Lead recruiting kick-off meetings for all newly opened open positions to develop a project plan.
  • Compose and post all external job postings. Ensure position postings meet federal, state, EEO, Affirmative Action, and other applicable posting and compliance requirements.
  • Execute new and innovative methods to attract a diverse group of candidates to the firm through employment branding and focused social media outreach, specified job boards, and internal programs.
  • Develop and build upon and maintain pools of qualified candidates using various sourcing strategies and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the success of social media campaigns, licensee outreach, or other techniques to increase brand recognition.
  • Screens resumes and conducts pre- interviews with the candidates.
  • Schedules interviews with candidates and hiring managers and administers appropriate assessments, reference checks and follow-ups.
  • Maintains communication with active candidates and Hiring Managers to obtain feedback on recruitment and position status.
  • Communicates important employment information during interview process (e.g., benefits).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance.
  • Debrief with candidates and hiring managers after interviews.
  • Daily administration of requisitions and candidates’ status via the Applicant Tracking System – Deltek Talent.
  • Maintains all folders covering applications, interview documents (people analyzers) to ensure adherence to all compliance requirements.
  • Provides weekly status reports on recruitment activity.
  • Maintains memberships and affiliations with trade/professional organizations related to industry.
  • Conducts Exit Interviews upon voluntary termination of associates.
  • Administer internship program.
  • Administer Associate Referral program.
  • Leads job fair scheduling.
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state laws governing equal employment opportunity.
  • Ability to relate to associates and clients at all levels of the firm.
  • Possess excellent communication, diplomacy, and listening skills, including oral communication.
  • Extensive knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Office software.
  • Experience with Deltek systems a plus.
  • Action oriented - able to move quickly and execute new processes and programs effectively.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail in composing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Work Environment

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is generally in both a typical office and outside

    environment and thus, exposed to the noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present in

    such an environment. This position requires travel to visit clients, tour project sites, and other TBS office

    locations and visit other field locations periodically.

    Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. Nights away from home and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates and clients are required.

    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.
