Job Description

Position Title
Project Coordinator

Position Purpose
The project coordinator is primarily responsible for internal collaboration on integrated projects to ensure completion of project activities and deliverables for successful project execution. This associate may also function as a Task Manager or Phase Manager on a given project under the direction of the overall Project Manager. In addition to this internal management on projects, this associate may also engage in business development, proposal preparation, and Client Champion activities.

Essential Functions

Coordinates and Develops Project Deliverables
Under the direction of the overall Project Manager, plan and coordinate the efforts of other associates to complete activities and develop deliverables on a given project.
Execute the self-performance of certain project activities upon which the work of other associates is dependent.
Propose value-added solutions to meet project objectives.

Collaborates with Project Team Members

Collaborate with the overall Project Manager and with project team members across all Disciplines and Specialty Groups.
Mentor other associates in the applicable tools and techniques for successful project completion.
Task Quality, Scope, Schedule, and Budget Adherence
Assist the overall Project Manager with executing the scope at the task level, within the schedule and budget limitations.
Monitor and control task level progress relative to scope, schedule, and budget.
Assist the overall Project Manager with ensuring standard of care and quality assurance/quality control on project work.

Trusted Client Relationships
Work in partnership with Project Managers, Lead Professionals, Market Sector Leaders, Client Champions, and Business Development Associates.
Keep overall Project Manager and Client Champion informed on project status and client issues.
Ensure client contact reports (CCR’s) are done.
Promote the use of additional services on existing projects when appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Project Coordinator may supervise project designers/technicians, project assistants, project professionals, and field survey associates on specific project activities and deliverables.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to operate, handle, maneuver, and manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; use manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone; talk and hear; climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Requirements
College course work or technical training plus a minimum of three years related technical work experience.
Ability to relate to clients and associates at all levels of the organization.
Possess excellent communication, diplomacy, and listening skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret drawings and complex documents.
Ability to use computer, including business and technical software.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is generally in both a typical office and outside environment and thus, exposed to the noise, dust, smells, and other environmental factors present in such an environment. This position requires travel to visit clients, tour project sites, and other TBS office locations and visit other field locations periodically.

Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and can be either exempt or non-exempt, generally requiring 40 hours per week. Under certain circumstances, longer hours including nights away from home and weekend commitments to the firm, its associates and clients may be required.
