We are seeking a skilled End Welder to join our team in the Miller area of Gary, IN. As an End Welder, you will be responsible for loading steel coils and joining the ends of two coils together through a semi-automated TIG welding process. This person also assists with mill change overs, troubleshooting equipment, ensuring product quality and maintaining cleanliness. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career growth and advancement. Our schedule is 4 x 10's Monday - Thursday. Possible overtime shifts on Friday and Saturday in 8 hour shifts Our current opening is on 2nd shift, 2:30 pm - 12:30 am. Open positions, including 1st shift are offered internally as they become available.

Responsibilities:
- Safely and effectively perform welding tasks using semi-automated TIG welder
- Read and interpret drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate steel is loaded to meet customer quality assurance.

- Use micrometer, calipers, and tape measure accurately
- Safely and effectively operate power tools and equipment necessary for welding and fabrication
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality control
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

-Support team to ensure productivity and quality standards are consistently met.

Qualifications

Strict commitment to safety

- Solid work ethic, with attention to safety and quality

- Highly dependable attendance
- Proven experience as a Welder or similar role
- Proficient in TIG welding techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge of steel fabrication a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical principles

- 1 year or more experience preferred
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely

- Able to work afternoon shift and overtime

- Dedication to continued learning and development

- Minimum of High School diploma/GED, must be 18 yrs of age or older

- Able to walk/stand 80% of shift 

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs
