Axient is looking for a Mid-level software Test Engineer in their Dahlgren office to support a critical Navy program at NSWC Dahlgren Division.

Description

Responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing Software quality control tests that ensure product quality and efficiency.
• Work with with product design teams, determine test parameters, conduct research and analyses, establish guidelines, troubleshoot issues, develop strategies to optimize operations, and create test plans while adhering to the company's standards and regulations.
• Must show attention to detail, have a positive attitude, express a willingness to learn, be challenged, and to take pride in the quality and timeliness of your work
• Conduct software acceptance and delivery activities for low risk procurements
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including system architects, project managers, product owners and operations
• Perform troubleshooting of operational and integration issues

Minimum Requirements

Required Qualifications:

• • 0-3 years’ work experience (position is intended for a recent graduate).
• Ability to obtain and Maintain a Secret security clearance
• Bachelor’s Degree: Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Physics or Applied Math.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to read and write MATLAB, Python, or similar code to processes and analyze data.
• Experience with documentation and presentations via Microsoft office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Self-starter – Demonstrate independent ownership of tasking. Position affords opportunity to define path and lead tasks based on technical understanding of engineering community and appreciation of customer needs.
• CS background and or degree with a full understanding of software development processes, methods, and environment.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision, along with personal initiative.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active US DoD SECRET Security Clearance or eligibility
• Familiarity with a Linux environment.
• Familiarity working with C
• Coding/scripting ability and training in Agile methodologies.
• Unix/Linux, C and C are desired knowledge areas and languages.

Travel: Local travel anticipated at less than 10 percent and rare short overnight trips.

Telework: Allowed but very limited
