Engineering Technician Basic Functions (or Position Summary):

Systemair Manufacturing Inc. is a vertically integrated company with dedicated in-house teams responsible for performing market analysis, research & product development, product testing, sheet metal fabrication and product assembly for ventilation products. Engineering Technicians play an integral role within our organization with primary responsibilities in setup and maintenance of our internal systems.

This role is perfect for an individual seeking an opportunity for continued growth in a technical capacity. An Engineering Technician has primary responsibilities in maintaining systems directly related to manufactured items. The Engineering Technician role is one that works cross functionally with other departments, and as an individual, to complete assignments or tasks related to new product development or making updates to existing products. The ideal candidate would be one who is eager to learn with basic computer skills, is self-motivated, takes a systematic approach to problem solving, and has experience in 3D modeling (CAD-Computer Automated Design). 

Requirements

Engineering Technician Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages product settings within inventory management system (item creation, bill of materials, item status, etc.)

2. Maintains existing 2D drawings and 3D models using Creo Parameric

3. Investigates Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and works cross functionally to implement changes

4. Manages and maintains existing label database and supports production as needed

5. Works cross functionally to create/maintain digital product content (product webpage)

6. Assists in resolving technical manufacturing and production design issues

7. Assists Engineering teams (Laboratory, R&D, and Design/Manufacturing) in various capacities

Education | Experience | Skills:

Education:

• Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associates Degree in technical program or working towards (preferred). 

Preferred Experience:

• Experience with parametric solid modeling (Experience in PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion, etc.) (not required).
• Working knowledge of CNC equipment and file compatibilities (.DXF, G-Code, etc.)
• Working knowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing, hobbies is sufficient).
• Knowledgeable of sheet metal fabrication methods preferred (not required).

Skills: 

• Works well individually and within a team environment.
• Can read and understand dimensional drawings.
• Effective communicator (written and verbally).
• Proficient ins MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Teams, etc.)
• Self-starter that demonstrates a sense of urgency to achieve important goals. 
• Open-minded, ability to adapt to change
• Team-oriented - develops "win-win" strategies.
