DevOps Engineer (Cloud Platforms) – Open Stack
The Cloud Platforms group is looking for a DevOps engineer to support and grow our VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) environment to provide an infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform for the MIT community, including research computing.
Essential Functions/Requirements:
DevOps Engineer (Cloud Platforms) – Open Stack
The Cloud Platforms group is looking for a DevOps engineer to support and grow our VMware Integrated OpenStack (VIO) environment to provide an infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform for the MIT community, including research computing.
Essential Functions/Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of the OpenStack platform including such services as Ceilometer Cinder, Keystone, Glance, Heatm Horizon, Nova, Neutron, Swift
- Knowledge of Software Defined Networking technologies (SDN). NSXv is a plus
- Knowledge of software defined storage a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Python and the OpenStack APIs
- Experience with Cloud APIs a plus
- Strong grasp of automation tools (Ancible and/or Puppet)
- Knowledge of VMware vSphere a plus
- Knowledge of containers a plus
- Experience working within an agile team environment
- Strong grasp of Linux (optimizing, securing, and troubleshooting); Redhat Enterprise preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex problems or processes, identify and understand requirements and develop alternate solutions.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications/ systems using proven or emerging technologies, in a variety of technologies and environments.
