The RN assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. They consider all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. The RN must be able to communicate effectively with all customers. They provide a safe working environment and follows established safety and infection control standards, policies and procedures, clinical guidelines, and monitors staff compliance with same.
The RN influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and they must have excellent observation skills, ability to critically think and ability to make quick, appropriate, effective decisions. The RN is responsible for creating complete notes for the patient chart following templates designed for regulatory agency compliance as well as other necessary documentation. The RN may be assigned other related duties and/or administrative projects by the Nurse Manager or designee. They serve as an effective member of the healthcare team utilizing interpersonal and collaborative skills. By establishing professional relationships with Veterans, peers, families, health care providers, supervisors, and administrators, they assist in initiating improvement in patient care delivery and identification and resolutions affecting the delivery of patient care which improves the overall organizational operations.
The GI/Endoscopy RN primary duties include, but are not limited to:
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
