Responsibilities:
Syntelligent is seeking a Maritime Transportation Specialist to support the Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration’s (MARAD) Office of Port Infrastructure Development.
This position will be in Washington, DC.
Tasks and Duties will include:
- Organize and coordinate complex studies and analyses relating to the maritime and intermodal transportation industries and a large capital construction grant program.
- Contribute to the formulation of policies, objectives, plans, and legislation to conduct and improve programs for the development of maritime, port, and port related infrastructure to include supply chains.
- Collect, compile, interpret, or otherwise develop technical information related to maritime, port, and port related infrastructure to inform and advise the Congress, Federal agencies, private firms, state and local governments, and other entities.
- Coordinate and studies, surveys, and investigations of infrastructure program requirements at both policy and program levels.
- Support marine infrastructure initiatives that improve or enhance performance of the national transportation system at both an internal program level and an external implementation level.
Qualifications Required:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution with 5 years of experience in transportation or infrastructure program management or;
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with 10 years of experience in transportation or infrastructure program management or;
- High School Diploma with 15 years of experience in transportation or infrastructure program management
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, understand complex issues, maintain good working relations, and meet basic professional performance standards.
- Ability to interpret, evaluate, and summarize complex issues relating to transportation infrastructure, ports, and the maritime industry.
- Experience in development and administration of transportation policies or transportation programs at a State or Federal level.
- Proficiency with common database and data analysis software platforms, or at a minimum proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Teams.
- Must be willing to provide three professional references.
