Synovus is Hiring an ACH Payments Specialist I - onsite, Columbus, M-F 9a-6p Near Columbus, GA

Job Summary:

The Payment Operations Division provides exceptional support to Synovus banks' team members and customers who use the various Treasury Management electronic payment products. The analyst will be expected to obtain/possess detailed product knowledge and be point of contact for both internal and external issues as they relate to applications supported by Payment Operations. Among other matters, this will include taking support calls and performing troubleshooting, account set-up and maintenance to electronic payment applications. Detailed knowledge of NACHA, Reg E, Dodd Frank 1073, FedWire and SWIFT regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Synovus bank team members and regarding electronic product/application questions and assists in resolving any related issues.
  • Develops knowledge and understanding of Treasury Management productions, deposit and electronic applications and the processing criteria for each.
  • Assists in the testing of system enhancements and process changes; learns to maintain controls to ensure electronic payment products and processes are disclosed.
  • Performs research, troubleshoots applications and provides resolution for reported issues.
  • Completes or assists in finishing tasks/projects in an accurate and timely manner; initiates and confirms that required daily operational processes occur on time to meet any predefined deadlines; keeps management informed of daily operations, projects and issues.
  • Adheres to company, division, and department practices, standards, policies, procedures and methodologies.
  • Responsible for account set-up and maintenance for various Treasury Management products; develops knowledge of the operations infrastructure for electronic banking products.
  • Applies operational and technical knowledge and skills to assist in completing related documentation; assists in improving existing business/operational processes.
  • Develops knowledge of the applicable regulations and other related rules to ensure Synovus remains in compliance with government requirements.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with Synovus team members, vendors and customers.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related job experience preferred

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 months - 2 years banking, financial services or Treasury Management job related experience
