Synerfac is seeking a Quality Manager for our client in Newport News, VA. Our client is a leader in custom precision sheetmetal manufacturing on the East Coast.
The Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance and control operations at a sheet metal manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet both internal and external requirements, including legal compliance and customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage quality control systems designed to ensure continuous production of high-quality products.
- Monitor and advise on the performance of the quality management system, producing data and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.
- Liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly.
- Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training.
- Assess product specifications and customer requirements, ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
- Anticipate and address potential quality issues in the production process.
- Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings and creating audit finding reports.
- Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes, and finished goods.
- Set QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved.
- Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
- Assess the product specifications of the company and its suppliers, and comparing with customer requirements.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, managing risks associated with product quality and safety.
Job Requirements
Details:
- 4 years of experience as a Quality Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in sheet metal manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- 4 years of experience with quality inspection, auditing, and testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- Must be willing to work OT as needed
