Work directly for a Providence County, RI area specialty manufacturing company.Mold Mechanic : POSITION SUMMARY : Utilizes maintenance mechanic skills to insure that all molding machines and mold support equipment are maintained in good working order, and function safely to design / operating standards.
FUNCTIONS : This position performs routine, general maintenance and repair of presses. Included in this responsibility is changing hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical circuits to meet molding conditions.
Responsible for repairing any hydraulic leaks. In accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule and or when there is an equipment failure, the incumbent trouble shoots and inspects facility equipment for defects.
Dismantles equipment, makes repairsrebuilds, reassembles and tests for proper functioning. Works with other employees on maintenance repair tasks requiring more than one employee.
Maintains spare parts inventory, schedules repairs, performs mold changes, and rebuilds valves and pump motors as needed.
Order parts and supplies as needed. Removes and installs molds as dictated by work orders and production schedules. Also brings mold to Toolroom for repair.
Minimizes lost production and unscheduled equipment down time by performing PM duties in a timely and efficient manner. The ability to read hydraulic, electrical, and machine mechanical prints.
Repair, modify, and install hydraulic circuits from prints. Proven ability to troubleshoot electrical problems from prints.
Experience setting relief valve and unloading valve and all other pressure adjustments. Troubleshoot hydraulic problems using hydraulic schematics.
Complete understanding of the mechanical functions of the injection molding machine mechanical advantage, strain, clamp, level, parallel, and platin.
Prevent grease and oil related rejections. Perform appropriate cleaning of press tie bars, ways, and drop area. Maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear.
Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal. When work in primary classification is not available, will perform other work according to skill and availability.
Minimum Requirements : High School Diploma or equivalency preferred. 2-3 years demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining injection molding equipment.
Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics training preferred.
