Synerfac Technical Staffing is Hiring a Maintenance supervisor Near Moncks Corner, SC

1.0 Purpose : Manage daily activities of the Maintenance Department in assigned area(s) to ensure the safe,effective, efficient, continuous plant operation through maintenance and repair of assigned facilitiesand equipment.

2.0 Scope : The position functions under the direction of a Maintenance General Supervisor subject toestablished policies, precedents and practices.

The incumbent is allowed considerable freedom ofaction to plan, organize and direct others to achieve department objectives and goals.

The incumbent manages the total maintenance efforts for all assigned area(s).The position has extensive problem solving requirements associated with maintenance and repair oflarge and sophisticated equipment.

The incumbent must have highly developed human relation skills required to direct and aidsubordinate personnel for self motivation, addressing competing and conflicting situations, andcommunicating with contractors and vendors.

The incumbent must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, must be able to store, retrieveand analyze data from the CMMS and network applications.

The incumbent maintains effective communication, meets emergencies, assesses and provides forthe training needs of crew members and performs employees' evaluations.

The incumbent works closely with Planning, Engineering, Production, Environmental and otherdepartments, to build and sustain effective working relationships that reinforce a Managerial Role vsa Foreman Role.

Incumbent must have high school diploma or equivalent.The incumbent must have five years experience in industrial maintenance.

This position requires occasional work / assistance outside the normal working schedule.Supervisor / managing experience is preferred.

The position has involvement with capital projects, monitoring cost and ensuring that contractorscomply with safety rules and practices.

The incumbent must have the ability to plan, organize, and direct maintenance and repairoperations.Physical Requirements : The tasks listed are the most physically demanding tasks required of the MaintenanceSupervisor / Sponsor position.

The position is primarily an administrative position. 1) Standing : Worker stands on concrete (occasional basis). 2) Walking : Worker is walking on concrete floors during the shift (occasional basis).

3) Strength : A) Lifting : Negligible B) Carrying : Negligible C) Pushing / Pulling : Not required 4) Climbing : Negligible 5) Balancing : Negligible3.

0 Responsibilities : -Ensure that EHS is a number one priority by adhering to the plant's safety and environmentalobjectives by conducting weekly safety meetings for assigned crew(s), daily toolbox meetings,monthly review of the "Safe Comment Report", demonstrate engagement in the HPI Process andinsisting that all safety rules are followed.

Evidence of this will be the TRIF at goal or less and theachievement of no Lost Time Accidents.-Use CMMS data, reports and graphics to pinpoint potential problem areas and enhance productivityof assigned crew(s).

  • Utilize a program of equipment evaluation, modification and improvement, and use employees tomake it successful.-Assess and provide learning and training needs of crew members.
  • Monitor apprentice progress and logbooks, evaluate and counsel as required.-Support company policies, departmental instructions and objectives in a positive manner withemployees.
  • Spend time with each crew member, to develop personal and working relationships, listening to newideas, problems and suggestions.
  • Set a leadership example that is supported by crew participation in decisions and activities.-Demonstrate a long term view and approach to work.
  • Work with Planning and CMT on a systematic basis to improve / update work procedures, timeestimates and PM / PdM frequencies.
  • Update crew(s) specific scorecards monthly.-Achieve crew specific goals on the Mt. Holly Maintenance KPI's-Breakdowns at goal or less.

Overtime collectively to be goal or less.-Responsible for conducting annual performance reviews with regards to performance objectives forcrew members.

  • Promote the use of ABS throughout the department. Achieve and sustain 5S rating. Continue tomove forward with the MAPS initiative.
  • Keep the Maintenance General Supervisors informed of operations and special occurrences in atimely manner.-Utilize the resources, such as Reliability Engineers, and others in solving problems and improvingproductivity.

Solicit their help to increase predictive maintenance and reduce unnecessary assetactivities.-Consistently complete tasks and provide information in requested time.

  • Assure credibility of maintenance functions by meeting committed downtimes for equipment.-Keep customers knowledgeable of the proactive maintenance process and aware of maintenanceactivities through the weekly planning meetings.
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent discipline is administered as needed.-Assist in staffing the department with the best skilled craftspeople and apprentices possible.
  • Promote integrated work between mechanical and electrical craftspeople.-Work with operating departments to maintain optimum operating conditions and compatible workingrelations.
  • Ensure mandated regulatory training is 100% crew compliant.-Prepare period reports as required.-Fill-in for department management as required.
  • Responsible for preparing the crew(s) budget(s) and controlling costs to within establishedparameters which will be determined annually at the department level and be prepared to explainvariances as requested by department management.
  • Work directly with inventory control changing min. / max quantities, controlling rebuild units, surplusand obsolete items, quality control, reduction of inventory and capital spares to reduce equipmentcosts.
  • Work with all personnel in the promotion of a good labor relations process. Promote the use of theopen door policy, communicate with department personnel in keeping them updated on all companypolicies and procedures, and provide timely answers to all questions and concerns.
  • Complete non-routine (B4) forms / HARM (Hazard Awareness & Recognition Matrix) cards and HPI-Pre-Job briefs when and where applicable.
  • Ensure representation is present for monthly Capital Review meetings and quarterly EHS audits forassigned area(s). Ensure there is representation at all FAT's, ERT's and PRT's.
  • Continue to identify and utilize "on-line" bid opportunities.-Complete the Life Cycle Engineering REM program and certify as a CPMM (Certified PlantMaintenance Manager).
