Overview: We are seeking a skilled Medicare Audit Specialist to join our team. As a Medicare Audit Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately auditing and processing Medicare claims. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical billing systems and terminology will be essential in ensuring timely reimbursement for services rendered.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information

-Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies

- Communicate with patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status or payment inquiries

- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations

- Stay updated on changes in medical billing codes, regulations, and insurance requirements

- Collaborate with the billing team to ensure accurate and efficient billing processes

Skills:

- Proficiency in medical audit and billing systems (Kinnser/Wellsky and KanTime)

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-10 coding

- Familiarity with medical office procedures and medical records management

- Understanding of PDGM (Patient Driven Grouping Model)

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Effective communication skills to interact with Medicare, insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
