Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

This strategic and highly visible role requires an energetic, passionate leader with demonstrated ability to drive growth and change via a balanced focus on customers, people, process, and innovation. You will have the opportunity to develop Account Sales Managers and partner cross-functionally with business leaders to grow the Home Utility consumer credit portfolio for details here within Synchrony’s Home and Auto Segment.

Essential Responsibilities:

The VP Client Leader will manage the P&L and will have a proven record of sustained growth. program details here. You will share in the strategic strategy of Synchrony’s Home Utility Segment that comprises the HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Segments. As part of your responsibilities you will be the primary relationship owner of one of Home Specialties largest National OEM programs and their Dealers. additional details here. In this role you will:

  • Set the strategic growth drivers for the Industry and Client. Ensure implementation of the strategy by clearly communicating the strategy to the support functions and field sales teams. Monitor implementation and SLAs making adjustments as necessary to drive success. 

  • Leverage a consultative sales process utilizing the DPS methodology to ensure the client leadership team is contemplating competitive threats and market conditions in the development of the financing program offering for their membersdealers.

  • Develop segmented sales and marketing strategies that reflects the client’s needs

  • Utilize Industry, Client and Economic knowledge to forecast and determine level of Investment and Return on client Program and Marketing Initiatives – i.e. Promotional Rebate Offers.

  • This position will work closely with members of the Sales team and the cross functional members of the Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Credit and Operations teams to support and deepen existing relationships within the client and drive strategies that differentiate Synchrony.

  • Deliver program sales and revenue performance objectives; through an in-depth understanding of P&L / credit life cycle dynamics and which actions to embark on to drive desired results through the many levers of this complex deal structure.

  • Lead quarterly business reviews, both internally and externally, as well an active member in planning all other client interactions to drive business engagement and results.

  • Proactively scans potential risk and compliance concerns; assures all contractual and compliance obligations are being met for clients.

  • Ability to leverage various channels to influence partners in order to achieve growth goals. Various channels include, but aren’t limited to phone / Teams, face to face meeting, trade shows, webinars, email and newsletters.

  • Provide value added analysis & reporting leveraging data analytics to client to evaluate & drive program performance.

  • Set the Vision and Theme for Synchrony's participation at bi-annual client trade shows. Ensure direct reports and the extended team are clear on their roles and responsibilities for trade show execution.

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 10 years related experience OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/Equivalent with 12 years of experience in Financial Services

  • 5 years client leadership or B2B marketing experience with a dealer-based program

  • 5 years financial skills which could include the following advanced understanding of contract terms, client and bank obligations, negotiation and deal structure; lead renewal strategy/negotiations for new amendments, breaches

  • Experience managing P&L

  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point and other Business Analytics tools.

  • Ability to travel 40%

Desired Characteristics:

  • Demonstrated Sales or Marketing leadership experience within the HVAC industry or industries with a two-step distribution and /or multi-merchant “Parent-ChildOEM / Dealer” programsr elationships.

  • 3 year of people management experience with direct reports

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent strategic, organizational, and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills: highly inclusive style. 

  • Superior financial skills and understanding of the P&L.

  • Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative.

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to hire, develop, and motivate people.

  • Ability to leverage technology and help innovate new products, channels, and business models.

  • Previous Retail marketing and/or sales experience.

  • Experience with promotional credit programs and/or service providers.

  • Experience with web-based sales / marketing activities and/or mobile technologies.

  • Solid track record of coaching, building both strong cross-functional alliances and motivating others to act in a boundary-less fashion.

Grade/Level: 14

The salary range for this position is 150,000.00 - 250,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
