Synaptic Pediatric Therapies offers pediatric speech and occupational therapy throughout the Dallas-Forth Worth area. We have a total of 9 clinics and growing! WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist in our Wylie location.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Complete a minimum of 60 sessions per month. This is a full-time position.
  • The clinic's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 6:30 PM. Reoccurring therapy sessions will be scheduled Monday - Thursday between 9 AM to 6:30 PM. Fridays are open to schedule make-up sessions and/or evaluations as needed. Therapists are expected to be available to be scheduled during clinic operating hours or agreed hours/days for part-time role.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with temporary or long-term speech, language, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive-communication disabilities/disorders in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Develop, revise, and implement Plans of Care to include long-term and short-term goals appropriate to each patient’s therapy needs.
  • Seek and participate in professional development opportunities to provide high-quality, evidence-based treatments/care to patients on caseload. 
  • Document all services, activities, and consultations within areas of training and expertise.
  • Complete all required, service-related documentation, including but not limited to: treatment notes, progress notes/reports, discharge notes, initial evaluations/re-evaluations, appeal letters, letters of medical necessity, etc) by company deadlines.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and good interpersonal communication skills to interact with children, adolescents, families, team members, and professionals in related fields.
  • Educate, collaborate, and provide resources to families/patients to maximize progress and carryover of skills.
  • Maintain continuing education units and licensure required to practice in Texas.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures. 
  • Opportunities to supervise interns, graduate students, or Clinical Fellows (stipend included in supervising Clinical Fellows)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passion for children and families
  • Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
  • Valid and current Texas state license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • ASHA-Certification (CFs are welcome to apply)
  • Willingness to grow your skillset through continuing education
  • Strong written documentation skills and verbal communication skills 
  • Desire to collaborate with occupational therapists and other SLPs within the team
  • Experience working with children with a variety of communication and/or swallowing disorders. This includes but is not limited to speech sound disorders, language disorders, autism, and other developmental disabilities.

SCHEDULE:

Clinic hours are between 9 AM and 6:30 PM. Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Fridays as needed for evaluations, makeups, and completing documentation.

COMPENSATION:

Pay is per visit. Average depending on caseload: $27,000.00 - $37,000.00 per year for part-time role. Biweekly pay.
