Colorado Springs, CO Full-Time Mid-Level

Salary Range: $80,414 - $170,179. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.

What you will do at Synaptech:

Synaptech is looking for a passionate and experienced UI/UX Developer who can develop front-end web designs. You should have experience with all aspects of UX design from interaction design, user research and persona creation to information architecture, visual hierarchy, user research and process flow for web-based and desktop interactions. You will need to be a hands-on contributor in a fast-paced agile environment. You must have a passion for user-centric design and be a strong communicator. Ability to identify alternative design strategies, assess design viability and rapidly transform user requirements into a user interface design. You will also need to interact with analysts, software developers, scientists, and systems engineers during the design and implementation phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Areas of focus may include content, controls, visual design and development, information architecture, user research, branding, and customer/technical support.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and development teams throughout implementation of new features.
• Engage with scientists, engineers, analysts, and customer leaders to weave concepts, scripts, and animation together into cohesive, creative, and innovative storytelling products.
• Provide other support as needed including digital media production.
• Collaborate with Synaptech and partner Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to deliver the best-informed products.
• Actively participate in the agile sprint process.

Must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Centered Design, Graphic/Web Design, User Experience and/or a directly related discipline.
• 3 years of experience designing and developing User Interfaces.
• Ability to develop in modern front-end programming languages.
• Proven track record of engaging with customers and coworkers to create innovative products that are user tested.
• Able to work collaboratively across disciplines with excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure & meet deadlines while maintaining high quality results.
• Possess or be willing to be processed for a U.S. Government TS/SCI security clearance.
• Must be a U.S citizen.

Nice to have:

• Existing security clearance.
• Experience with Typescript, HTML, and/or CSS.
• Proficiency in React or other modern front-end JS frameworks, build tools, and environments (Node.js, Webpack, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., Illustrator, AfterEffects, Photoshop), Figma, or related products.
• Proven success in translating and visualizing complex concepts via UI/UX design through the UI/UX phases (discovery, wireframes/storyboards, prototypes, mockups).
• Experience using Agile and Scrum processes.
• Proficiency in NoSQL database design, maintenance, and operations (MongoDB is a plus).
• Experience with 3D graphics programming, including ThreeJS and WebGL.
• Experience using 3D geospatial libraries (Cesium, Web WorldWind, etc.).
• Experience in container-based deployment using Docker.
• Space domain experience or a natural desire and interest in the space domain.
• Passionate desire to make the joint warfighter world a better place with cost-effective, performant space architectures which enable operations and mission success.
• Possess a natural curiosity and desire to challenge yourself and those around you.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Preferred – TS/SCI
• Nice to Have – Secret
• Acceptable – Ability to obtain a security clearance
