Title: Housekeeping Supervisor

Status: Full or Part Time 

Job Summary:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the housekeeping department, including staffing, supply ordering and supervision.

Essential Functions:

• Supervises staff and assists with all aspects of cleaning and maintaining the facility interior and grounds; ensures residents’ safe, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner and that residents’ personal items are safeguarded.
• Ensures cleaning schedules are followed and coordinates daily housekeeping services with other departments.
• Develops long range, short range and daily plans for the housekeeping for the housekeeping service of the facility.
• Maintains pertinent records, manages budgets, and supplies, and functions as a working supervisor in all areas responsibility as the department’s budgeted hours and workload require.
• Supervises housekeeping personnel and schedules adequate coverage. Assigns duties and evaluates work performance, as necessary.
• Prepares requisitions for all necessary supplies and equipment and submits these to the Administrator with an emphasis on inventory control.

Requirements

The duties of the position may include, but are not limited to the following areas:

? Clean and sanitize residents’ rooms.

? Conduct “thorough cleanings” as scheduled

? Clean and sanitize resident’s and public restrooms

? Clean and sanitize shower rooms

? Clean and sanitize public areas (day rooms, lounges, Penny Lane, Chaplin’s Theatre, etc.)

? Sweep and mop floors.

? Vacuum carpeted areas.

? Clean carpets.

? Clean windows, blinds and walls.

? Pick up trash and debris inside building.

? Empty trash cans and replace with clean bags.

? Keep work area hazard free.

? Attend required in-services and training sessions.

? Upholds Resident Bill of Rights at all times.

? Other duties as assigned.
