Pay: $50 per hour
As the Assistant Program Director you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out your assigned duties and report to the Program Director.
Job Functions

Administrative Functions
· Personnel administration (e.g., hiring, scheduling, personnel relations, personnel policies.).
· Administrative supervision of the counseling staff.
· Administrative supervision of staff including the Floor Supervisors, Competency Trainers, Evaluators, Counselors and Activity Aides.
· Clinical supervision of counseling staff.
· Clinical supervision of designated interns (if applicable).
· Periodic chart audits.
· Coordination of in-service education.
· Supervision of day-to-day operations of the IST Forensic Unit.
· Communication with and coordination of services with various stakeholders including the California Department of State Hospitals (DSH), Placement Management Unit (PMU), and other community hospitals or facilities.
· Management of the admissions and discharge process for IST patients.
· Review of and update to the program policies and protocols on occasion and as necessary.
· Performance of other duties as assigned by the Community Program Director or facility Administrator.
Other Responsibilities
· Respond to any request for “Code Strong”.
Staff Development
· Attend and participate in all mandatory in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
· Duties and responsibilities assigned for the safe and continued operations of the facility.
Safety and Sanitation
· Reports all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., immediately.
Equipment and Supply Functions
· Reports equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your Supervisor as soon as possible.
· Ensures supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
· Assures that work/assignment areas are clean and records, files, etc., are properly stored leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.
Resident Rights
· Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
· Knocks before entering a resident’s room.
· Follows DHS and DMH resident’s rights in accordance to Title 22
Working Conditions
· Is subject to frequent interruptions.
· Works beyond working normal working hours, weekends and holidays and other shifts/positions as necessary.
· Is subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
· Attends and participates in continuing educational programs, and maintains necessary licensing requirements.
· Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the day, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
· Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B Viruses.
· Communicates with Rehabilitation Department and other department personnel.
· Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, visitors, etc.
· Is involved with residents, family members, personnel, visitors, government agencies and personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
· May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Specific Requirements
· Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
· Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
· Most possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the general public.
· Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
· Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
· Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
· Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
· Must maintain confidentiality.
· Must have good organizational and problem solving abilities.
· Be knowledgeable with computers, including basic programs like Word, Excel, e-mail, and data input.
· Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
· Must have working knowledge about PC 1370 (IST) and programs related to serve that population
