**Job Description: IT/Help Desk Support Specialist**

**Job Summary:** Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to all IT internal customers related to computer systems, hardware, or software. Responds to queries, isolates problems, and determines and implements solutions.

**Essential Duties:**

* Provides EDI support for all end users.

* Coordinates the IT set-up of email group assignments and phones for new hires.

* Provides end-user support with McLeod.

* Assists the IT director with all upgrades and new application support.

* Coordinates the testing and training of all new applications.

* Provides technical assistance and support for incoming tickets and issues related to software.

* Responds to queries either in person or over the phone.

* Writes IT training manuals in support of specific end user training and learning.

* Provides Computer Training as needed to end users.

* Responds to email and phone messages for all internal customers requesting assistance.

* Inquires with internal customers to determine nature of issues.

* Trouble-shoots computer issues and walks internal customers through problem-solving process.

* Installs computer peripherals for end users.

* Follows up with customers to ensure issues/ticket orders have been resolved.

* Completes other duties as assigned by management.

**Skills/Experience:**

* Preferred: 1-2 years of experience in an IT related customer support role.

* Preferred: 2-4 years of previous working experience as an IT Help Desk Technician.

* Demonstrated technological/computer systems savvy.

* Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.

* Highly effective customer service aptitude and service skills that include a strong sense of urgency in providing IT services and service recovery

* Strong working knowledge of the Information Technology role in the business environment.

* Ability to take the initiative and work independently with limited supervision.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Highly effective listening, organizational, and time management skills.

* Ability to think quickly and remain clam during periods of increased stress.

* Ability to adjust to changing deadlines while maintaining a customer-oriented attitude.

* Familiarity with creation of Microsoft SQL Server queries and ODBC connection setups.

* Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, etc.).

* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while effectively handling multiple projects and tasks.

* Ability work in both a team-oriented environment as well as independently.

**Education/Training/Requirements:**

* Preferred: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or relevant field.

* Required: High school diploma or GED equivalency

**Supervisory Responsibility**

* This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Work Environment**

* This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

**Physical Demands**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stoop as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
