SR. RESEARCH SCIENTIST - LEAD SCIENTIST - Planetary Dynamicist - Boulder, Colorado 19-00134Who We Are: As a recognized leader in space science research and spacecraft instrumentation, avionics, and electronics, we are helping to reveal the secrets of our solar system and the universe.Objectives of this Role: Conduct analytical or numerical modeling and model analysis studies of problems in solar system dynamics.Conduct observational data analysis that supports model validation.Develop and grow an independent research program through external program support.Participate in mission and/or instrument proposals to support the strategic growth of the Department.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities: Independently develop and implement hypotheses-driven numerical model and data analysis activities.Configure, initialize, run, and analyze solar system dynamics models to test hypotheses.Maintain and grow a research program in planetary dynamics through external funding.Develop independent collaborations outside of the group.Present and disseminate research results at professional meetings and conferences.Submit manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.Contribute to community advisory groups and participate in external funding agency proposal panels.Mentor junior scientists within the Division and Institute.Requirements: Requires a PhD in Planetary Science, Astronomy, Physics, Astrophysics, Geophysics or related field3 years: Post-Ph.D. Experience in the dynamics, numerical simulation, analytics, or data analysis of planetary systemsStrong and consistent record of peer reviewed publicationDemonstrated success in external research program funding supportA valid/clear driver's license is requiredSpecial Requirements: Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado.Job Locations: Boulder, Colorado Salary Range: $89,419.00 - $149,053.00For benefits information at our San Antonio location, click here .For benefits information at all other locations, click here .An Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action EmployerRace/Color/Religion/Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/National Origin/Disabled/VeteranCommitted to Diversity in the Workplace#J-18808-Ljbffr
