Position Title:  Program Coordinator-Career and Professional Education Programs STATEMENT OF PURPOSEWorks with department Director in coordinating all aspects of various AHEC career recruitment, secondary, post-secondary and professional education/development programs servicing a 13-parish region of southwest Louisiana. As a Program Coordinator for AHEC (Area Health Education Centers) programs, you will play a crucial role in facilitating and coordinating various initiatives aimed at improving healthcare workforce development and addressing healthcare disparities in underserved communities. This position requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders including healthcare professionals, educators, community leaders, and students.MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsibilities: 
  1. Program Planning and Development:
    • Collaborate with AHEC leadership to develop program goals, objectives, and strategies to meet the needs of target communities.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of educational programs, workshops, and training sessions focused on healthcare careers, professional development, and health equity.
    • Research new grant opportunities.
    • Research, coordinate, implement new programs specific to goals and objectives of AHEC.
  2. Coordination and Logistics:
    • Coordinate logistics for AHEC programs including scheduling, venue selection, materials preparation, and participant registration.
    • Communicate effectively with program partners, speakers, and participants to ensure smooth execution of events and activities.
  3. Community Engagement:
    • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote AHEC programs and services.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership to expand program reach and impact.
  4. Data Management and Evaluation:
    • Collect, analyze, and report data on program activities, participant demographics, and outcomes to assess program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
    • Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and assist in preparing grant proposals and progress reports.
  5. Marketing and Outreach:
    • Represent AHEC at community events, conferences, and meetings to promote program initiatives and engage with stakeholders.
  6. Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support to AHEC staff including scheduling meetings, maintaining program records, and managing budgets.
    • Assist in the development of grant proposals, budgets, and reports as needed.
