Qualified candidates will have excellent communication and customer service skills, the ability to cultivate strong relationships, loves to create engaging activities, while ensuring safety of our program participants. Previous swim instruction and/or competitive swimming experience preferred. This position will require non-traditional hours to include evenings, early mornings, and weekends. This position will serve as the lead of the SwimRVA Swim School deck operations as a part of a dynamic team. It will support and grow staff as the shift leader of the Swim School consistent with the Programs staff development process. The Sr. Programs Coordinator will work collaboratively as part of the Programs design team for providing members with quality service, programs and leadership thus helping SwimRVA achieve higher impact levels. Deck coordination for swim instruction based programming.
Responsible for the daily operations of the SwimRVA Swim School programs
Understand the teaching modalities with ability to demonstrate skills
Oversee the SwimRVA Swim School deck independently during programming using SwimRVA metrics and development tools/checklists to maintain lesson quality
Staff training and development
Assist with developing and training for Swim School coaches
Assist in evaluating swim school coach performance and creating performance improvement plans with the Assistant Director of Programs and Director of Programs as necessary.
Program development and increasing impact
Assist with business growth and attracting new customers.
Demonstrate responsibility in regard to work schedule, meetings and trainings
Qualifications
Ability to work and relate well with children and adults (ages 6 months-and up)
A love for teaching, water, and aquatics programing
A desire to grow professionally through aquatics
College degree or equivalent experience
CPR and AED for Adult and Child
American Red Cross First Aid
Swimming experience preferred
Ability to work in high stress conditions, using critical thinking, and customer service savvy
Must be able to show great customer service to all customers and employee teammates of SwimRVA
