Job Description:

Swift Straw is looking for a Maintenance Technician - Electrician to be responsible for installing, repairing/monitoring industrial processing and production machinery. This is a mid-level position with experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems. The role will be based out of Swift Straw’s Jasper FL office.

As a Maintenance Technician - Electrician, you will be expected to be a key player on the maintenance team and help with all maintenance activities. This role will report to the Maintenance Manager and be held responsible for various metrics such as downtime percentage.

Responsibilities:

  • Must have knowledge of primary high voltage and secondary voltage electrical distribution systems and components

  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code and its application to commercial/industrial electrical and high voltage systems

  • Knowledge of the procedures for installing, altering, and repairing all electrical conduit, power and lighting systems, single phase and three phase from electrical distribution through the brand circuits and their devices

  • Skills in using trade hand tools, using various trade meters, and using electric and hydraulic power tools

  • Ability to translate the National Electrical Code (NEC) to practical purposes on work sites

  • Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems to identify any issues.

  • Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.

  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures

  • Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure everything is up to standard.

  • Maintain detailed maintenance records for all equipment

  • Scheduling vehicles for maintenance and repairs.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or recipient of GED

  • Experiencing managing a shift within a manufacturing facility

  • Strong organization skills with experience managing complex systems

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to be hands-on in the production line, shop, or office

  • Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Drive, ability to learn Swift Straw’s operating system (Rootstock)

  • Excellent communication skills – subordinates, company leadership, contractors, laborers

  • Team player - ability to work well within a team

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and insurable on company’s commercial auto policy

  • Pass pre-employment drug screening

  • This working position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of all types of electrical infrastructure, electrical systems, and electrical devices including but not limited to, power, lighting, control, locking control, and motors and associated systems and components utilized in the operation of the facility

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role
