Swift School is an independent school of approximately 180 students serving grades 1-8. Swift’s mission is to prepare students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences to be successful in life. A 5th Grade OG Teacher is responsible for implementing the instructional program assigned
that results in students achieving academic success in accordance with Swift’s policies.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher is required with preference given to degrees in education-related fields

• Teaching experience in the field of language learning differences preferred

• Orton-Gillingham training and/or experience with learning differences preferred

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement instructional activities that contribute to student engagement
• Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate
• Conduct student assessments to create an intervention plan that matches student needs
• Establish individual student goals
• Integrate appropriate technology tools into classroom instructional activities and lessons
• Maintain effective and accurate records of communication and student data
• Collaborate with peers to enhance a positive instructional environment
• Meet professional development goals and seek opportunities for growth
