POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates and markets the delivery of adult private duty and lifeline services to clients ensuring the highest quality and customer satisfaction. Supervises staff and assists Manager in the implementation of department and institutional strategic goals. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of Agency philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Associates degree in business preferred. At least two years in Home Health Care and supervisory experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Current State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required. Annual CPR certification is required.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Demonstrated leadership and teaching skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and problem solving skills required. Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with patients and all levels of staff within the organization and resources within the community. Excellent telephone etiquette skills required. Highly motivated and the ability to work independently. Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides daily support and supervision to staff in the delivery of services and carrying out strategic vision. Serves as a resource communicating issues to staff, facilitating smooth operations and ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety and Agency standards. Develops and communicates policies and procedures to staff.
- Identifies and determines appropriate staff levels and monitors staff utilization, including preparing and reviewing daily schedules, addressing short-term fluctuations and assigning daily work.
- Oversees staff selection, orientation, education and performance evaluation process ensuring competence and compliance with Agency rules and regulations and human resource policies. Recommends disciplinary action as appropriate and maintains an environment that promotes positive change strategies.
- Conducts on-site observations of all direct care staff evaluating performance, quality outcomes and client satisfaction. Updates the clients care plan and follows-up on all client problems and counsels staff as needed to correct issues.
- Market and promotes private duty and “Safe at Home” and maintains and prepares a variety of required records and reports.
- Assists manger in maintaining supply utilization within established budget parameters.
- Completes customer service assessments, advises patient of their financial responsibility/liability and initiates service plan. Maintains confidentiality of position acquired information.
- Performs all aspects of care in an environment that optimizes patient and environmental safety and in accordance with agency policies applicable laws, regulations and compliance efforts.
