POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Server Engineer is a technical leader within the Information Systems department leading strategic and operational infrastructure initiatives. Position is responsible for the design, build, monitoring, and maintenance of all physical and virtual servers that support medical faculty, clinical staff and administrative support in patient care, teaching and research activities. This position requires proficient and demonstrated technical and analytical skills for administration and maintenance of servers and the systems that reside on them. Identifying and leading enhancement opportunities to infrastructure systems for value-added services. This position is responsible for providing strategic and tactical infrastructure solutions, assisting leadership with vision and roadmap including but not limited to; Active Directory, operating systems, hardware platforms, virtualization, databases, security, and storage solutions. Hands-on configuration, installation, maintenance, and backup of all servers and system data, and providing project support in the timely completion of IT projects, milestone dates, and deliverables. Problems encountered are of a high level of difficulty and can usually be solved through self-knowledge or with assistance from other experienced Server Analysts. This position requires a proficient level of analytical skills, innovation and creativity to install and support systems. An elevated degree of analytical skills, innovation and creativity is necessary to formulate and implement the mechanisms to identify and solve problems. A wide variety of internal and external contact relationships are required for this position. Developing and maintaining good communication with contacts are key to accomplishing the goals and objectives of the organization. |
