About Us:

SWD Inc. opened for business in March 1980 with three employees in a 9,000 sq. ft. leased facility and began black oxiding, cleaning, and pickling operations with used equipment. In late 1980, the company began passivating stainless steel and in 1981 purchased Fastener Sorting Corporation. Today, a recognized leader in the Metal Finishing and Fastener Sorting fields, SWD Inc. has over 200 employees and runs three shifts per day in its 250,000 sq. ft. facility just west of Chicago in Addison, Illinois.

What We're Seeking:

SWD Inc., located in Addison, IL., is looking for an on-site Electronic Technician. This role is typically Monday-Friday 7am- 3pm (with overtime as required). 
Position Summary
As an Electronic Technician at SWD Inc., the primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems, installing electrical wiring and machinery, and diagnosing and repairing circuit boards. 
Responsibilities/Duties:

• Show ability to trouble-shoot electrical and electronic problems using logic gate, multimeter, and an oscilloscope
• Detect unusual sounds from machines indicating malfunctions
• Install electrical wiring in conduit or wire ways
• Install machinery and equipment according to electrical specifications and all applicable codes
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems from schematics
• Adjust and monitor voltages on electronic equipment
• Complete appropriate documents and necessary paperwork
• Diagnose circuit boards down to component level and repair
• Comply with all SWD INC. safety rules and regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment 
• Practice safe work habits, following outlined policies and procedure
• Operate a forklift, following all required safety and operational procedures
• Reviewing and comprehending Shop Orders
• Be aware of SWD Inc. Company's policy and procedures, including the quality system as defined by ISO-9001, ISO-14001, and ISO-17025 and outlined in the SWD Inc.'s quality, environmental and laboratory systems policy, and procedure manuals. 

Education/Work Experience

• Associate's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field
• Certifications in Specific Technologies or Products (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA)
• Manufacturing experience and forklift experience is a plus
• Field Service Experience, preferably in electronic system installations and repairs

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand for 8 hours
• Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls
• Regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms 
• Occasionally required to communicate verbally and in writing
• Occasionally/regularly lift or move up to 40 pounds
• Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision and ability to focus
• Regularly subject to high noise levels
