- Arrange, oversee, direct, and coordinate all aspects of funeral services while providing caring support and advice to the family and friends, all while creating and leading an exceptional customer experience.
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record of growing case volume over time.
- Must have a valid Texas funeral directors or funeral directors/embalmers license.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds and pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
- A funeral director spends a significant portion of time within a funeral home, meeting with families and making funeral arrangements.
- Funeral directors are also present at wakes and memorial services sponsored by the home, and may travel with the family to church and then to the cemetery and grave site following funeral services.
- Funeral directors general work 40-hour weeks, though hours may vary depending on the needs of the family, and weekend, evening, and holiday hours are common.
- Hazards associated with trade: possible exposure to communicable disease, blood borne pathogens, formaldehyde, and high temperature work environment in crematory.
