Full Time Victim Advocate for Domestic Violence Services at SWAN Olney Office
The Victim Advocate works out of the SWAN Effingham Office. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week. The Victim Advocate assists victims/survivors of domestic violence through the civil and criminal justice process, provides information regarding legal remedies, the Illinois Domestic Violence Act, shelter services, crime witness information and other SWAN services. The Victim Advocate assists victims with efforts to obtain emergency orders of protection, plenary orders of protection and filing criminal complaints. Victim Advocates provide follow-up supportive services and safety planning. The Victim Advocate must answer telephone calls, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and be able to utilize other program-specific computer programs for the domestic violence programs.
The service area is Effingham and Clay counties. Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel within the service area. This position requires a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
