Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Implement individualized care plans and support goals
- Assist with community integration and participation in social activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Document observations and report any changes in behavior or health to appropriate personnel
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Skills:
- Experience in first aid and CPR is preferred
- Proficient in meal preparation and dietary restrictions
- Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Familiarity with home care practices and lifting techniques
- Understanding of systems and procedures related to direct support services
- Knowledge of dementia care techniques is a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing situations
- Knowledge of social work principles is beneficial
- Previous experience in nursing homes or similar settings is advantageous
