As a Line Cook, you will be an integral part of our culinary team, responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. Your role will involve working collaboratively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during service hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation:
  • Follow recipes and prepare ingredients accordingly.
  • Portion, chop, slice, and dice ingredients as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
  • Cooking:
  • Cook and assemble dishes accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor food temperature and ensure proper cooking techniques are applied.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of food items prepared.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary.
  • Notify the chef or supervisor of any quality issues or shortages.
  • Collaboration:
  • Coordinate with other kitchen team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders.
  • Communicate effectively with servers and other staff members to fulfill customer requests and special orders.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance:
  • Follow proper cleaning and maintenance procedures for kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas.
  • Dispose of waste and recycling appropriately.
  • Adaptability:
  • Be flexible and willing to assist in various kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Handle additional responsibilities during busy periods or special events.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety standards.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for culinary excellence.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Certification from a culinary school or relevant training is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Lift and carry heavy pots and pans.
  • Work in a hot and humid environment.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with accuracy.
