Job Position Details :

JOB TITLE : In-School Suspension Parapro

REPORTS TO : Principal

JOB DESCRIPTION :

To assume the smooth and efficient operation of the Opportunity Room (OR) room so students may have the opportunity to complete assignments while in school.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Obtains assignments from each teacher of each student on a daily basis.

Returns assignments to teachers (placed in mail boxes) on a daily basis.

Monitors and manages student behavior and work.

Ensures that a safe, successful learning environment is provided.

Makes arrangements for lunch through the cafeteria or from student’s home.

Monitors rest room breaks and ensures student isolation from other students while in OR room.

Maintains communication between students, teachers and parents regarding student attendance and work in OR room.

Obtains list of assigned students from Assistant Principal and keeps accurate attendance.

Maintains clean, attractive and pleasant room environment.

Provides additional resources for utilization of OR time.

Maintains necessary supplies and equipment to complete student assignments.

Completes other duties as assigned by administration.

Job Requirements :

ALL K-12 paraprofessionals working with students in any capacity must meet the following requirements :

High school diploma OR GED AND

An Associate’s degree or higher OR

Obtain a passing score on one of the ADE approved online assessments below :
