We currently have an opportunity available for a Part-Time Retail Craft/Fabric Clerk.
RETAIL CRAFT/FABRIC CLERK Job Summary - Will assist customers with purchasing merchandise in the Craft/Fabric Department of Surplus City.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
RETAIL CRAFT/FABRIC CLERK Job Summary - Will assist customers with purchasing merchandise in the Craft/Fabric Department of Surplus City.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greets and interacts with customers.
- Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to merchandise.
- Demonstrates and explains merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers needs.
- Answers customer's questions about merchandise.
- Assists customers with purchase decisions.
- Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room or other inventory locations.
- Cleaning, organizing and stocking shelves.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities include but are not limited to:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent active listening skills
- Excellent sales and customer service skills
- Extensive knowledge of the fabric and crafts products
- Ability to anticipate customer's needs.
- Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.
- General Math skills

- Thoroughness
- Focus on quality
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged period of standing and walking throughout the retail space.
- Must be able to bend, reach and lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- Successful completion of job training period.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrate leadership qualities and promote a positive, safe and clean work atmosphere.
Store Hours: Mon-Fri, 9am - 6pm; Sat, 8 am - 6 pm; Sun, 10am - 5pm.
Must be available to work weekends on a rotating basis.
