Surgical Investors & Advisors, LLC is Hiring a Clinical Services Director (Registered Nurse) Near Charleston, SC

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Clinical Director to join our team. As the Clinical Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards within our Ambulatory Surgery Centers. This is a leadership role that requires strong management skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Job Function:
Responsible for Managing site leaders for the daily operations of the Centers including clinical, professional, and business aspects to ensure financial and regulatory success while providing patients with optimal surgical experiences.

Responsible for assuring compliance with all Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Responsibilities, and Board of Directors Bylaws.

Responsible for assuring compliance with all Federal, State, and accrediting body regulations. Approaches the operation of the Centers with the concept that the clients of the Center are the patients, their families, physicians, and employees.

The Director provides oversight of Administrators and clinical leads in multiple locations. Requiring scheduled and emergent site visits as well as daily communication

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Works towards achieving the mission, objectives, and goals of the Center.

2. Acts as a liaison with medical staff and the Board of Directors to develop working relationships, and provides reports, information, recommendations, and evaluations regarding the Center with the concurrence of the Management Company.

3. Works directly with and may correlate clinical management responsibilities when appropriate with the Medical Directors.

4. Directly or indirectly assures development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures including but not limited to benefit selection, employment, termination, orientation, and appraisals, taking into consideration all pertinent local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Maintains accreditation.

5. Directly approves payroll and authorizes check issuance.

6. Directly or indirectly provides for supervision of all employees in accordance with Center policies and procedures. Communicating effectively with each center for the authorized leadership of the centers for daily operations.

7. Provides or approves all employment, appraisals, and termination of employees. Provides input into the training and education needs of the personnel.

8. Assures that the Center operates in accordance with all local, state, and federal rules, regulations, and laws applicable to ambulatory surgery centers including but not limited to Medicare Conditions of Coverage, state licensure and/or Certificate of Need regulations, Patient Privacy Act of 1996, Fraud and Abuse Act, OIG Compliance, Patient Safety Act, American Disabilities Act, Nondiscrimination act 1557, and HIPAA.

9. Directly or indirectly provides for the development and implementation of Center policy and procedures addressing clinical and business operations as well as annual review and revision and/or addition/deletion as necessary.

10. Directly or indirectly provides for purchase of and payment for all materials, office supplies and equipment, medical equipment, medical disposable and non-disposable supplies and capital expenditures. Directly approves invoices with supporting documents for check issue.

11. Directly or indirectly provides for inventory control and cost accountability for in-house inventory and utilizes information for management planning, cost projections, and to assist with budget preparation. Reviews case cost information at least semi-annually to ensure accuracy and optimize cost saving.

12. Oversees business operations including but not limited to accounts receivable, timely and accurate filing of claims, implementation of third-party contracts, out-of-network procedures, indigent care, correct coding and charging initiatives, scheduling, and payment processing.

13. Ensures, either directly or indirectly that all physicians and personnel comply with all Center policies and procedures.

14. Assists with execution of contracts for outside services provided to the Center. Annually reviews all contracts/agreements and reports to the Board of Directors/Management Company including recommendations for revisions/cancellations.

15. In conjunction with the Business Office Manager other personnel shall develop monitors to evaluate the outside services provided to the Center.

16. In conjunction with the Management Company, annually develop a capital budget for presentation to the Board of Directors.

17. Directly negotiates and executes all third-party reimbursement contracts, with the assistance of the Management Company.

18. Directly or indirectly provides for the safety of all employees and patients within the Center including but not limited to orientation, regular maintenance of equipment, performing consistent safety inspections of the facility, routine scheduled Biomed inspections of electrical equipment, in-house emergency care equipment that is adequate for case type and patient population, appropriate emergency generator and established reporting mechanisms for safety concerns and/or occurrences.

19. Development of and implementation of a Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plan that includes but is not limited to Peer Review, Utilization, Safety, Quality Assurance, and Risk Management. Ensures orientation to and ongoing involvement of all personnel with the plan. Attends all Committee meetings.

20. Assesses and assures that care provided is appropriate to the setting, provider, and parameters outlined in the Medical Staff Bylaws for admission to the outpatient setting including but not limited to denial of admission or cancelation. May act in accordance with Anesthesiologist or Medical Director.

21. Coordinates Medical Staff credentialing and privileging activities including Allied Health Staff for all centers

22. In conjunction with the Management Company and principles, coordinates budget for and marketing activities focused towards physicians and/or patients.

23. Performs other duties as necessary for the operation of the Center and coordination between the Board of Directors, Medical Staff, and Management Company.

Qualifications:

1. To perform this job successfully, one must be able to perform each essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience:

1. Prior experience in a management role, including supervisory experience (minimum 1 year), preferably in an ambulatory surgery setting.

2. Registered Nurse and/or minimum undergraduate degree in a related field.

3. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

4. A foundation knowledge of medical terminology, Diagnoses and Procedure Codes and related billing information preferred.

5. BCLS Certified or willing to become certified within one (1) month of employment.

6. ACLS / PALS Certified (if a professional nurse) required.

7. Prior experience with fiscal responsibility, preferably in a for-profit setting.
