POSITION OVERVIEW:
Working under the direction and plan of care of a provider, wound care nurse is responsible for participating and assisting with GFC Wound Care Program development, including ensuring fiscal, quality and customer service outcomes for the wound care patient population. Duties and responsibilities include assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with various types of wounds, staff and patient education, and provide specialized care to patients with wounds, ensuring optimal healing and preventing complications. Works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to implement comprehensive wound care plans. Activities include assistance in case conferencing, clinical wound care supervision and provision of patient care. Works under the plan of Wound Care Provider(s). Oversees: LPNs, CNAs and Schedulers. Reports to: Director of Clinical Operations, wound care.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years in nursing experience.
3 of the 5 years in Wound Care clinic preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current Montana or compact state RN license. Current Wound Care Certification. Must obtain Ostomy Certification within 1 year of hire.
Wound and Ostomy Certification preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Ability to maintain confidentiality in daily operations. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Attention to detail and well organized.
