We are looking to employ an experienced hardscape foreman to supervise our hardscape crew and oversee all activities relating to the completion of a project. The responsibilities of the foreman include evaluating the performance of the crew, ensuring that project costs remain within budget, and working within the supervision of the general superintendent. You should also be able to manage project materials and resources as well as oversee the use of equipment and tools.
To be successful as a hardscape foreman, you should be able to correctly interpret blueprints, plans, and drawings. Ultimately, an exceptional foreman should demonstrate excellent management and problem-solving skills as well as enforce compliance with safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
● Manage the execution of hardscape construction projects, planning labor requirements,
equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of
job(s) within project deadlines
● Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at sites
● Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of a hardscape
construction crew of 3 to 5 employees
● Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of
hardscape constructions
● Operate various tools and equipment, including but not limited to: heavy equipment, chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
● Construct walkways, walls, fences, decks, posts, etc.
● Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections,
lubricating, and cleaning on a regular basis
● Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to
delegate/complete work activities
● Comply with all company policies and regulations
● Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks,
trailers, equipment, jobsites
● Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all
crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
● Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at
shop/yard and on jobsites
● Overseeing all activities pertaining to concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing.
● Dividing concrete construction projects into different stages and evaluating how much labor and materials are required for each stage.
● Resolving all problems that may affect project quality and completion.
● Consulting blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure that concrete structures are accurately placed and installed.
● Delegating tasks to crew and providing overall guidance.
● Maintaining accurate records of the number of hours worked and the number of materials used for each project.
● Ensuring that formwork and shoring are erected, supported, and dismantled based on engineering designs and drawings.
● Inspecting concrete after the formwork and shoring has been removed and instructing concrete laborers on how to correct defects and concrete roughness.
Requirements:
● High school diploma or GED.
● Proven experience working as a Concrete Foreman.
● Driver's license.
● The ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans.
● Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
● Excellent management and leadership skills.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $46.00 per hour
