Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented Director of Quality to join our team. The Division Quality Manager, or Director of Quality, will be responsible for leading the department, planning of goals and projects, and directing quality assurance policies, programs, and initiatives. They establish, monitor, and maintain quality control systems. In addition, they are responsible for developing, monitoring, and managing the various management systems used to perform business (ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-17025). As a Director of Quality, you will be responsible for the following.
Responsibilities:

Company-Wide Quality Development - 35%
  • Assist executive management with the development of the corporate quality plan.
  • Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization.
  • Set QA compliance objectives and ensure that targets are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation (RoHS, Reach, Conflict Minerals, etc.).
  • Consider the application of environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Establish clearly defined quality methods for staff to apply.
  • Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
  • Ensure tests and procedures are properly understood, carried out, and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if necessary.
  • Establish standards of service for customers and clients.
  • Take responsibility for significant quality issues- be hands on with the issue, develop a plan to resolve it, communicate the plan, and progress on the plan to the organization.
  • Assess customer product specifications and compare with its suppliers.
Leadership - 30%
  • Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
  • Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training.
  • Manage quality staff.
  • Bring together staff of different disciplines and drive the group to plan, formulate, and agree on comprehensive management system procedures.
  • Persuade reluctant staff to change their way of working to incorporate quality methods.
  • Liaise with customers auditors and ensure the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers specifications.
  • Meet with suppliers, customers, quality representatives and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems.
Profits and Budgets 15%
  • Maintain awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues.
Maintaining and Creating Documentation -20%
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Collect and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters.
  • Write technical and management systems reports.
  • Prepare clear explanatory documents, such as customers charters.
  • Monitor performance by gathering relevant data and produce statistical reports.
Must Haves:
  • Knowledge of automotive, aerospace, and commercial requirements.
  • Ability to understand drawings, including GD&T and dimensional layouts.
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO:900, TS16949 quality management standards, and ISO14000 environmental management system and ISO 17025 Inspection and testing management system.
  • Proficient computer and writing skills.
  • Regular, reliable attendance.
  • Bachelors degree engineering degree in related field OR equivalent experience.
