Supernal is Hiring a Sr. Training Program Specialist Near Irvine, CA

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. We are designing a completely new electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft tailored to the mobility needs of future cities. This allows passengers a seamless intermodal journey that safely transports them to their final destination. What we do:

The Quality Systems team is responsible for processes within the entire product lifecycle – from design, buy, build to test and operations – and the digital tools used to facilitate them. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting Supernal’s first technical demonstration vehicle and future iterations to further Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). As Sr. Training Program Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs at Supernal. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify training needs, develop curriculum, and support the delivery of engaging training sessions that align with company objectives and industry standard methodologies. This role requires a strategic problem solver with a passion for cultivating a culture of learning and development.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

What you can do:

  • Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments to identify gaps and opportunities within the organization
  • Design, develop, and implement training program(s) to support Supernal’s Quality and Safety Management Systems including curriculum, materials, and delivery methods, tailored to meet the needs of diverse employee groups
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure training program is accurate, relevant, and aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Work with content creators to design engaging and interactive training content, incorporating multimedia elements, simulations, and hands-on activities
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and seminars, both in-person and virtually, using effective presentation techniques and adult learning principles
  • Find opportunities to enhance the skills and competencies of our workforce using the emerging trends, technologies, and standard methodologies in training and development
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and make recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Partner with HR and operations teams to track employee progress, identify performance trends, and provide coaching and support as needed to address skill gaps
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for training content creators, providing guidance, support, and expertise in instructional design and facilitation techniques
  • Collaborate with external vendors and training providers to supplement internal training offerings and leverage external expertise when necessary

What you can contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional design, quality management, engineering, or related field required
  • 5 years of experience in instructional design, training development, or related role preferred
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and project management skills
  • Experience with training development in high safety and compliance environments (e.g. FAA, FDA, AS9100, IS-BAO, etc.)
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Working knowledge of common training needs in manufacturing, quality or industrial environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS), eLearning authoring tools, and multimedia software (e.g. Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, etc.)

You may also be able to contribute:

  • Proven track record developing and managing training program(s) from scratch in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience developing training program or courses specific to quality or safety management systems (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100, IS-BAO, etc.)
  • Familiarity with Atlassian suite (Jira/Confluence), MS Power Apps, MS Power BI
  • Working knowledge of enterprise systems, including ERP, MES and PLM
  • Certification in instructional design (e.g., CPLP, ATD) or training facilitation (e.g., CPTD, Langevin)
