Superior is currently seeking a Chemical Handler at our Indianapolis, IN location, Monday through Friday 7:30am-4:00pm. This position is responsible for daily production, unloading raw materials, and completing paperwork, while maintaining a safe operation. The starting rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transfer products into and out of pails, drums, and totes utilizing transfer pumps and hoses.
• Read detailed paperwork instructions regarding chemical amounts and blending instructions.
• Pull product samples and submit to the Lab for quality control.
• Label containers properly and secure to closure specifications.
• Ensure all products are properly inspected, labeled, stored, and prepared for shipment.
• Stage, load, and unload containers including; pails, drums, and totes.
• Forklift operation.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required in accordance with the potential hazard and potential for exposure.
• Maintain a safe, orderly, clean operation of equipment and work area.
• May cross train in various positions including shipping/receiving, handling of bulk product, inventory control, chemical packaging, fiberglass handling, tote cleaning, preventative plant maintenance, and/or yard truck spotting.
• May assist occasionally with production at another facility close by.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong safety mindset
• Forklift certification (we will provide the training)
• Must have effective verbal and written skills, enabling clear and strong interactions with co-workers, chemists, administrative staff, delivery personnel, and management.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
