THIS RECRUITMENT MAY BE USED TO FILL MULTIPLE POSITIONS INCLUDING PERMANENT AND GRANT-FUNDED POSITIONS :The Superior Court of Fulton County Georgia (“Court”) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Behavioral Health Clinician within its Accountability Courts Division.
Superior Court is Georgia's busiest trial court of general jurisdiction. The Court seeks to provide a forum in which legal disputes between citizens can be resolved in a fair and efficient process with attention to equal access, impartiality, efficiency, and safety. After joining the Court, you will become part of a fast-paced team dedicated to providing the citizens of Fulton County with the service they deserve.
Job Summary::
Performs process duties related to managing mental health, substance abuse, and/or developmentally disabled clients including interviewing clients; developing treatment plans; providing individual, family, and/or group behavioral health therapy; and evaluating client’s progress toward attainment of goals.
Essential Duties::
  • Provides on-going assessment, crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy and case management services.
  • Develops strength-based service plans, monitors treatment progress, documents interactions and maintains electronic clinical records and other reporting data for individuals with mild mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
  • Collaborates with clinical director and/or supervisor and other team members regarding treatment.
  • Evaluates and documents client’s level of functioning and progress toward attainment of goals.
  • Coordinates with internal as well as external supportive services to deliver needed services to clients.
  • Coordinates client and case management services.
  • Monitors client’s stability and level of functioning in the community.
Qualifications::
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities::
Requires knowledge of principles and practices of public, business or judicial/court administration. All laws, rules, and regulations governing public and court administrative operations. Court practices and procedures. Legal terminology related to court operations. Techniques used to conduct legal research.
Requires skill in Data Utilization: Requires the ability to evaluate, audit, deduce, and/or assess data using established criteria. Includes exercising discretion in determining actual or probable consequences and in referencing such evaluation to identify and select alternatives.
Human Interaction: Requires the ability to provide specialized or professional level counseling and medical treatment to others that typically requires certification and/or a bachelor’s degree in a specific field.
Technology: Requires the ability to use spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, and other software to research legal issues, organize and analyze information, prepare reports, and create and deliver effective presentations.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference, descriptive, and/or advisory data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; ability to calculate decimals and percentages; may include ability to perform mathematical operations with fractions; may include ability to compute discount, interest, and ratios; may include ability to calculate surface areas, volumes, weights, and measures.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of influence systems, such as motivation, incentive, and leadership, and to exercise independent judgment to apply facts and principles for developing approaches and techniques to resolve problems.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, or subjective criteria, as opposed to that which is clearly measurable or verifiable.
Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.
Education and Experience::
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychiatry or related field required; and at least two years of experience in providing behavioral health services; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Preferred Qualifications:
License as an Associate Professional Counselor (APC), Clinical Social Worker (LMSW), or Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) is preferred.
Licensing Requirements::
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must possess and maintain a state of Georgia license or eligibility for a license as a professional counselor, clinical social worker, marriage and family therapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurse, rehabilitation counselor; (as required by position assignment).
Physical Requirements::
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station.
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds, odor, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, disease/bodily fluids, pathogenic substances, violence, and traffic hazards.
