Licensing Manager

Our Entertainment & Partnerships (E&P) team is building a long-term entertainment capability to attract new fans and deepen the love of existing ones through content and licensing partnerships. As a key member of this team, we are seeking a Licensing Manager to support in the day-to-day management of our licensing agents, brand collaborations, and direct partners, to ensure the successful development and execution of consumer products and experiences for Supercell’s portfolio of gaming IP. Key areas of focus will include account management, product development, launch execution, presentation development, and internal coordination.

Responsibilities

  • PARTNERSHIPS:
    • Participate in regular status meetings with agent(s) to review opportunities and support outreach to current and prospective licensed partners to drive growth.
    • Work with Supercell’s licensing agent(s) to ensure licensees have the necessary information and upcoming plans for our IP and games, support in product development, development of launch plans, and on-going marketing support.
    • Partner both internally and with external agencies on collaboration partnerships from pitch stage through to execution.
    • Manage and execute direct deals to deliver maximum impact for the brands.
  • LICENSING TEAM:
    • Develop presentations and documents that support our licensing agent(s) and licensees, such as business updates, pitch materials, and internal needs.
    • Produce competitive analyses to better help evaluate opportunities.
    • Serve as point person for our licensing management software platform.
    • Process unsolicited pitches and maintain pipeline tracker.
    • Develop streamlined internal documentation & procedures to maximize efficiency across the team; including tracking sheets, checklists, licensee onboarding packets, and regular maintenance of shared-drives
  • INTERNAL COLLABORATION:
    • Daily communication with agent and Licensing Art Director to ensure that all product approvals, creative assets, and partner questions are addressed.
    • Collaborate with other groups within Supercell, such as Game Teams, Marketing, Communications, Community, etc. in supporting licensee and retail programs.
    • Facilitate coordination between SC Legal and Finance to ensure all legal and financial paperwork including budget tracking, payments, SOWs, contracts, etc. are processed properly.
    • Participate in planning and execution for Tradeshows, Partner Summits, and other industry and Supercell events.

Requirements

  • 8 years of Licensing experience with character-driven IP
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with experience in project/account management
  • Proactive doer who is unafraid to roll up their sleeves
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Keynote
  • This position must be based in the Los Angeles area
Benefits and Compensation
While the salary range based on your background, skills, and experience for this position is $113k – $169k, your financial compensation model also consists of an annual bonus, RSU equity, and 401k.
