The Magnuson Hotel Copper Crown of Hancock and the Super 8 by Wyndham of Houghton seeks full-time and part-time Housekeepers to join their hotel teams in your choice of Hancock, Michigan or Houghton, Michigan. Flexible schedules available.

Housekeepers are critical roles in hospitality. They create clean and orderly environments for our guests to feel welcome, safe, and comforted during their stay.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.

• Clean guest rooms and guest areas including making beds; dusting; vacuuming; cleaning bathrooms: replacing supplies; cleaning windows, mirrors and patio doors.
• Familiarize yourself with safe and effective use of appropriate cleaning chemicals.
• Maintain a stocked, organized, and clean cart of supplies.
• Report hazardous conditions, equipment and maintenance issues as needed.
• Document and secure lost and found items.
• Conserve energy by closing shades/drapes; turn down air conditioning/heat in unoccupied rooms.
• Conduct yourself in a professional, friendly manner with all guests.
• Assist front desk associate, as needed, by delivering and picking up guest requests.
• Work collaboratively with team members and stay current on hotel happenings.

COMPENSATION. Starting wage of $14.00 – $15.00 per hour based on your experience.

SCHEDULE. Full-time and part-time positions available with start times of 8:30am on Monday-Friday; 9am on weekends. Housekeepers generally finish up between 12 noon – 3pm, depending on hotel occupancy. Flexibility required to cover nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS.

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Preference given to candidates with prior experience in housekeeping, sanitation, laundry operations and/or guest services.
• Someone committed to delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
• Flexibility in your schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays) customary with the service industry.
• Someone motivated to use safe work practices.
• Position requires an ability to lift, push and pull up to 30 pounds, stand for long periods of time, and work with cleaning chemicals as needed.
