Job Summary:This position supports and assists the Chair of the Department of Public Health & Preventive Medicine in the management of the department, graduate instruction, and research services. The incumbent will provide lectures for graduate public health courses and may also lead or co-lead courses depending upon program needs. The position will provide statistical and research consultations for CRE, in conjunction with other CRE consultants or independently, as appropriate. The position will also participate in the submission of grants, data analysis, and the presentation and publication of research results. The position will oversee traditional chair's assistant duties as well, including budget management, meeting and travel arrangement, human resources interactions and processes, and other administrative duties. The position will supervise graduate student and administrative employees, and will delegate duties as needed.Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree in public health or related should be completed by the time of hire to qualify for an instructor-level faculty appointment. Working knowledge of public health. Experience in all of the following: project or grant coordination; peer-reviewed publication; presentation at scientific or academic conferences. 5 years experience in coordination and management in an academic setting, including purchasing, meeting coordination, human resource processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

Some experience in course management and/or classroom lecturing at the graduate level. Experience managing graduate students and academic professional staff.

Some experience and/or training in both quantitative/statistical and qualitative research, data management, and literature reviews, with ability to expand skill set in one or more of these areas.
