Job Description:

This Student Worker position is an outstanding opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student that is
interested in helping support a venture in state-wide educational improvement. The student worker provides project
support focused on the analysis of the impact of the teachers' participation in professional learning opportunities on
their classroom practice. They will work directly with the Executive Director and other program staff as appropriate.
The Student Worker will be based at SUNY Global in New York City and supervised on-site by the Executive Director.

The student worker will work with NYSMTP staff to support the following projects:

  • Identification of trends in the teachers' engagement in the professional programming by reviewing the
  • activity logs and reflections surveys, which consist of both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Review and revision of the application review process for counselor applicants, a new applicant group to join the program in 2023
  • Project support to the presenters and attendees of the professional learning opportunities for the June open to-all-educators PD workshops
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director to support the NYSMTP

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled full time in a SUNY undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong work ethic, energy level, and creativity that translate into enthusiasm for the successful
  • accomplishment of program goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in STEM and teaching is preferred.
  • Fluidity with Microsoft Suite products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and others, as well as social media outlets including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Additional Information:

Maximum hours worked for this position is up to 29 hours per week.

Hourly rate is $17.00 for undergraduate students; $18.00 for graduate students.
