What You'll do
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team in Boise, ID. The CompuNet Accounting and Finance team is responsible for internal and external financial reporting and associated functions. Day-to-day tasks may include:
  • Supporting the day-to-day accounting and revenue-related processes and systems.
  • Conducting a broad range of the company's accounting, finance and business functions and developing and implementing accounting and finance policies.
  • Supporting the monthly general ledger financial closing and reporting function including analyzing revenue, reconciliation of accounts, preparing journal entries, and reporting financial information in accordance with company accounting policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Performing technical research to ensure proper accounting in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
  • Working internally and with other departments to develop and improve processes, procedures, and controls necessary to record transactions appropriately.
  • Reporting monthly financial results to management teams.
  • Supporting periodic audit and tax return compliance.
  • Developing, implementing and documenting processes and assessing internal controls.
  • Participating in corporate-wide initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Conducting ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed to support operational decision making.
  • Cross-training and supporting Accounting and Finance functions as necessary.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

You have the following knowledge, skills, abilities and/or education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 3 to 5 years' of professional accounting or finance experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proficiency with ERP's and/or ConnectWise and Oracle as well as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
  • Self-starter who is interested in touching and impacting many accounting and business processes.
  • Ability to problem solve in an effective, patient and determined manner.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and strong customer service mentality. You must represent the Accounting and Finance team well when interacting with both internal and external customers.
  • A desire and drive to understand and improve upon our current processes to help our team and company succeed.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work, be flexible and move nimbly between assignments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage a high volume of work.
  • Sound judgment in financial, operational, or transactional analysis to identify and resolve issues.
