Facilities Manager l Job Description

Department: Facilities Exempt (Full Time)

Our Mission:

Job Summary:

Responsible for effectively leading and managing the Facilities Team. This position is responsible for General and Preventative Maintenance, Pool and Water Maintenance, Safety/Risk Management and Landscape Care. Responsible for maintaining the entire physical property of SunWater Spa and The Tava House.Monitors and maintains building equipment and structures to high operating standards to provide a quality and safe experience for our members, guests, and staff. With the Leadership Team, assists in creating policies and procedures making sure they are clearly communicated and demonstrated to staff. Possess excellent leadership skills, communication, training, and conflict resolution skills. Reports directly to the Spa Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manages a team that will:

  • Keep the properties clean, neat, organized, and visually appealing. 
  • Repair and maintain property and equipment using skill and proper tools
  • Perform preventative maintenance in all areas of the spa
  • Follow tub maintenance schedule including complete disassembly, cleaning, and reassembling tubs in all weather
  • Clean cedar tubs and saline pools, including skimming, refilling, and scrubbing during downtime. 
  • Balance chemical levels in indoor saline pools and cedar tubs.
  • Maintain all safety standards
  • Assess the property for potentially hazardous situations including but not limited to icy/snowy/slippery surfaces, misplaced tools/equipment, dangerously placed hoses and extension cords, infected/unsafe/unpleasant water, report hazards to Spa Director
  • Keep up with a daily checklist

Personally responsible for:

  • Writing and updating manuals/protocols for grounds and pools/tubs
  • Managing vendor relationships and acting as liaison with Leadership Team
  • Manage and communicate with contractors for repairs and projects.
  • Regularly attending and participating and coordinating training and staff meetings
  • Reviewing the daily checklist and following up for staff accountability
  • Hiring and training new employees
  • Performing periodic assessments and reviews for maintenance staff
  • Works with the Spa Director on ongoing projects.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience with Staff and Project Management
  • Mechanically inclined and general knowledge in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and landscaping
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator certification preferred
  • Experience in managing a facilities team of maintenance technicians
  • Open and flexible availability, including weekends as needed
  • Computer and software proficiency preferred.
  • Friendly, positive, and professional in manner, dress, and communication.
  • Ability and willingness to follow all company, local and federal policies, and guidelines
  • Ability to walk up and down many stairs each day.
  • Physical stamina and mobility including the ability to reach, kneel, squat, and bend
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required 30lbs (could be lifting 50 lbs when necessary)
