JOB TITLE: Patent Paralegal

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the preparation, filing and maintenance of domestic patents/applications
• Docketing (preference to candidates with experience with CPI)
• Prepare filing transmittals for all U.S. filings
• Generate correspondence to clients
• Follow up calls to PTO
• Respond to attorney requests
• Keep accurate time records

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Excellent understanding of patent processes
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and completes them under time constraints
• Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical, or spelling errors
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone and follow the instruction effectively from a diverse group of clients, attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact
• Qualified candidates must possess strong computer and organizational skills and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment

REQUIREMENTS:

• A minimum of 5 years patent law firm experience
• Trademark experience a plus
